The Horologist is the first retail boutique for the Barbagallo Group, dedicated to timepieces and related accessories.
All of the companies that operate under the Barbagallo banner are overseen by family. The Horologist is no exception. Troy Barbagallo, currently the Managing Director of Cool Time Equity, Sunseeker Australia and Box International, is owner and manager of The Horologist.
The Barbagallo Group is a leader in Australian motoring excellence, recognised for its expertise in the retail of prestige, luxury and high performance vehicles. Founded in 1967, it has become a large, multi-franchise operation, selling many brands across three locations in the Perth metropolitan area. Boasting an enviable selection of the world’s finest automotive marques, it is an authorised dealer for ultra-luxury brands Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin, as well as operating prestige dealerships for Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Volvo and Volkswagen; with a partnership in Audi; and the largest pre-owned luxury vehicle business in WA. In recent times, Barbagallo has extended its range to include ‘volume’ brands such as Citroen, Skoda and Opel, and commercial vehicles by Isuzu, SsangYong and F-Truck, ensuring its product offering caters to everyone.
With the support of over 200 staff, the company is dedicated to delivering product excellence and an exceptional customer experience, a philosophy that has enabled it to forge strong customer relationships and commercial partnerships throughout its history. Year-on-year, the company has achieved tremendous growth and expansion, consistently outperforming competitors in terms of customer satisfaction measures, sales volume, market share and profit margin, an achievement that is largely attributed to an extraordinarily high level of repeat referral business.
Building on its outstanding success in the automotive segment, the company has leveraged its expertise in the luxury sector across a diversified portfolio. In 1997 it established Barbagallo Marine, representing Sunseeker in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
In 2008, stirred by a family passion for high-end timepieces, the watch division of Barbagallo was created. Instrumental in the Australian debut of some of the great independent brands such as MCT, Urwerk, Ladoire and Louis Moinet, Barbagallo’s Cool Time Equity now concentrates on the Australian distribution of U-Boat, Linde Werdelin, Montegrappa, Clerc, Giuliano Mazzuoli, and Dietrich.
In 2014 the first retail watch boutique and on-line store of the Barbagallo watch arm was established – the Horologist. With world renowned brands like Audemars Piguet and Zenith showing trust in the Horologist, Barbagallo has quickly established itself as a serious player in watch world.
Further to its commercial objectives, the Barbagallo Group has a strong commitment to supporting children’s health and welfare issues, founding and taking an active role in fundraising for its self-managed charity ToyBox International.
